You will find the original pattern for this quilt in the 10th Anniversary Book on pages 4 and 8. Follow the pattern on page 8, but with the measurements of the 3” star from page 4. You will have better results if you use the 1-7/8” center square size for the option #3 Flying Geese. I also recommend cutting the corner units larger (1-3/4”) so that you can have room to trim up perfectly.
Last hint – don’t cut any strips out of the light prints; use sparsely in your Option #3s.
The strata sections strips are all cut 1-1/4”.
Cut 12 of aged muslin
Cut 12 of any scrap colors
This will make 6 strata stripe sections.
Cross cut them to 6-1/2” length.
Any left overs of the strata section cut into 1 1/4" sections and use for your border.
